The company was organized on April 13,1878 as the Callicoon Agricultural Fire Relief Association of Sullivan County, New York for the purpose of transacting business as an assessment co-operative fire insurance company in Sullivan County in New York. It was incorporated under the laws of the State of New York on June 29, 1910. In 1964, the current title was adopted.
Callicoon Co-operative Insurance Company underwrites most property lines, with a focus on commercial multiple peril, homeowners, fire and farmowners coverages.
